Ironworkers breathe new life into Miami Valley marketing program
Ironworkers in the Dayton, Ohio, and Miami Valley area have reestablished a program to promote the trade to potential contractors and apprentices.
The Ironworker Contractors Allied Partnership (ICAP) is focused on creating a larger market share for Ironworker contractors, and their labor force, within the Miami Valley construction industry. The group will promote Ironworker training and craftsmanship to business owners throughout the area, as well as educate ICAP members on the importance of building positive, long-lasting relationships with contractors.
"This program was developed as an opportunity for our union to gain market share within the Miami Valley area," said Rick Cornett, marketing director for the Ironworker Contractors Allied Partnership. "Our objective is to introduce ourselves to or reconnect with the various contractors, owners and developers throughout our region."
The Ironworker Contractors Allied Partnership (ICAP) was established as a result of a collective bargaining agreement, which established a Joint Marketing Fund to support marketing programs for the Ironworkers and their employers in the Miami Valley Area.
Members of ICAP receive benefits from the organization in the form of training to improve job safety, drug and alcohol awareness, apprenticeship and the image of members in the field.

About Union Ironworkers
Members of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers are part of the construction trades.
It is their job to unload, erect and connect steel beams that form the skeleton of a structure in addition to working in precast concrete, metal buildings, reinforcing steel, ornamental iron and metal curtain wall construction.
Throughout the United States and Canada there are over 120,000 union Ironworkers in local hiring halls and fabrication shops.
